Okay, I hardly ever wear make-up. I admit it. Over the years, I've gotten very lazy and probably a bit too low maintenance. Since my children have become my main focus in life over the last seven years, I have not been focusing so much on myself. So, when I got the invite to Sephora's launch party for a new "criminally cute" line called Tokidoki, I was intrigued. I needed a bit of a push back into the world of cosmetics. The party was complete with cocktails, models putting on a fashion show, a performance by the band Tina Parol, skate … [Read more...]
Love, Loss and What I Wore
Tonight a friend and I went to see Love, Loss and What I Wore at the Westside Theater. I was very excited and curious to see how Delia and Nora Ephron, two of my favorite writers, had adapted the memoir by Ileen Beckerman. It's funny that I saw The Vagina Monologues at the same theater many years ago as this play. They are comparable to me in many ways. They both have a cast of rotating well-known actors. They both interweave monologues and memories about sometimes personal topics, finding humor in each one. In Love, Loss … [Read more...]

Spending Time Abroad after College Before Hitting the Real World
When I graduated from university, I had an big case of wanderlust. I wanted to live abroad before hitting reality. I looked into my options and came across an organization called BUNAC. I took a few months between graduation and took a few graduate school entrant exams. Then I took off. I spent a few weeks in Greece and … [Read more...]
My Love for PBS Kids
I'm honored to be a PBS Kids Club Thirteen Ambassador. Nothing could suit me more perfectly. I'm a kid at heart. Quite often I relive my childhood through my own childrens' experiences. Whether it be via a trip to Disney World, which I adored as a child, or to see "Annie" or "Mary Poppins" live on stage, I enjoy replicating my own experiences and seeing them through the eyes of my children. PBS Kids falls right into this scenario. Some of my earliest memories are coming home from nursery school and heading into the den … [Read more...]
New York City Moms: Through the Eyes of My Children
This week as the State of Israel is celebrating its birthday, I’m thinking back to a particular Sunday morning so many years ago. I was fifteen years old and in my last year of Sunday School. A representative from a program called High School in Israel came to tell us about a unique program in which one could go live in Israel and study for two months with full credit. I was instantly enchanted. While I was not raised in a family that was particularly religious, I had always felt a kinship with my roots and wanted to … [Read more...]
