Interviewing Selena Gomez this past summer, with my daughter as my assistant, remains the highlight of my blogging career.  We are still celebrities in the eyes of her friends, and for me, it was a shining moment when my burgeoning journalist daughter took the reins and asked her favorite TV and pop star questions about her singing career and Paris.  It was also worth getting up at 8:30 to see her new film, Monte Carlo.  We were leaving for Paris just a few short weeks later, and it definitely put us both in the travel spirit. I was sent a copy of a new book called M.O.M. last week. I took a look at the cover with the image of superwoman in a box being passed from one child to another and decided that it was reading material for my 6 year-old son and I.  So we sat down on the floor and started to read. We love the NYC Botanical Gardens in the Bronx at all times of year.  My kids adore the train show during the winter; I love the orchid show during the summer.  It is a day trip that we all cherish, and it happens to be just 20 minutes from home.
