Ward off the solstice gloom with a “Sunny Day“ concert featuring Smithsonian Folkways artist Elizabeth Mitchell and her family. Elizabeth has been performing and recording family music since her days as a NYC preschool teacher in the 1990s. A founding member of the band Ida, she just released Sunny Day with husband Daniel Littleton and daughter Storey. Mitchell’s gentle, heartfelt music transfixes audiences of all ages with homespun renditions of great songs by Woody Guthrie, Bob Marley, Bill Withers, The Velvet Underground, Vashti Bunyan, Gillian Welch and more. The quiet sweetness and intimacy of her concerts cement her as an icon whose music will be remembered for years to come, and you and our kids will be sure to leave the show with a smile on your face.
