Editorial pitches

pitches@theculturemom.com

We commission freelance work across all seven sections. What gets our attention:

  • A specific story, not a topic. “Why the new wing at the Met is worth a Saturday with a seven-year-old” beats “museums for families.”
  • A reason it should be you. Firsthand experience, relevant expertise, or access we do not have.
  • Two or three published clips.
  • A short pitch. Three paragraphs is plenty.

What we do not accept: unsolicited guest posts, pre-written articles submitted for free publication, link-insertion requests, sponsored-post placements dressed up as contributions, and AI-generated drafts submitted as original work. Emails offering to “add a link to your existing article” go straight to the trash, so please save yourself the send.

We respond to pitches we want within two weeks. If you have not heard back in three, it is a pass, and you should feel free to place the piece elsewhere.

Partnerships and advertising

partners@theculturemom.com

For brands, agencies, tourism boards, publicists and affiliate program managers. Tell us who you represent and what you are proposing.

Two things worth knowing before you write. First, we do not sell editorial coverage or ranking positions, ever. Our editorial policy explains how that line is drawn and enforced. Second, anything we publish that involves a commercial relationship is labeled as such, clearly, at the top of the page.

We are happy to receive products for review consideration. Receiving something is not a promise to cover it, and it is never a promise to like it.

Response time is usually five business days.

Corrections

corrections@theculturemom.com

If we published something inaccurate, we want to know, and we would rather hear it from you than not hear it at all.

Include the article URL, the specific claim you believe is wrong, and a source if you have one. We verify every correction request against the original reporting.

When we are wrong, we fix the article and add a dated correction note at the bottom explaining what changed. We do not quietly edit errors out of existence. Substantive corrections are acknowledged on the page permanently.

We aim to review correction requests within two business days and act on confirmed errors immediately.

A note on timing

We are a small editorial team with children and other jobs. We are slower than a corporate inbox and faster than most independent publications. If something is genuinely urgent, say so in the subject line and we will move it up.
