Meet the Editors

meet the team

Real moms. Real opinions. Real bylines.

The Culture Mom is run by a small editorial team of moms — each with deep credibility in their beat. We test the gear, take the trip, and write only what we’d send to our own sisters.

— with love, the editors
Founder · Editor-at-Large

Holly Rosen Fink started this in 2010.

Before The Culture Mom, Holly worked in television at Lifetime, Nickelodeon, and MTV — producing kids’ programming, writing about family entertainment, and helping the Frommer travel brand reach moms. She founded The Culture Mom as a place to write what she’d actually recommend to her friends: the Broadway show worth the splurge, the family hotel that respected the kids, the cookbook she actually used.

Fifteen years and 1,000+ posts later, Holly hands the daily editorial calendar to a small team of contributing editors — moms with real expertise in their beats. She remains Editor-at-Large, writing occasional essays and overseeing the editorial standards she set from day one.

the editorial team

Six editors. Seven beats. One trusted voice.

Each of our editors brings real-world expertise to her beat — a clinical psychology degree, a chef’s training, eight years at Real Simple. We picked specialists, not generalists.

Travel Editor

Sarah Banks Goldberg

Sarah has traveled to 38 states with her three kids, written for Travel + Leisure as a freelance contributor, and reviewed family hotels across North America. She lives in Westchester, NY and knows the difference between a hotel that tolerates children and one that genuinely welcomes them.

Food Editor

Maya Wright-Ojeda

Maya is an ICE-trained recipe developer and former recipe tester at NYT Cooking. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two kids, and her test kitchen is a 4-burner apartment stove — which means every recipe she publishes has to work in your kitchen, too.

Parenting Editor

Dr. Renee Halverson

Renee is a licensed clinical psychologist with a PhD from Columbia, a private practice in Greenwich, CT, and three kids of her own. She brings clinical research and lived experience to the parenting questions that don’t have easy answers — screen time, sibling dynamics, mental load, big feelings.

D
Style & Home Editor

Devon Park-Burton

Devon spent eight years on staff at Real Simple before going freelance for Domino and Apartment Therapy. She’s our quiet authority on the buys that actually earn their drawer space — the cashmere that doesn’t pill, the organizer that doesn’t slide, the kids’ shoes that survive a year.

Wellness Editor

Priya Shetty, RD

Priya is a Registered Dietitian and contributor to Parents Magazine, with a clinical background in family nutrition. We’re looking for contributing editors — moms with real credentials in their beats, who can write at least one piece a month. Particularly interested in voices covering Reviews, Wellness, and Food.

our standards

What we promise. What we won’t do.

Trust takes a decade to build and a single sponsored post to break. Here’s the editorial bar we hold ourselves to — for every product, trip, recipe, and review.

We test before we recommend

Every product in our reviews has been used by an editor or a trusted contributor for at least three weeks. Every recipe has been cooked at least twice. Every hotel review involves a real overnight.

We disclose every relationship

If a brand sent us a sample, we say so. If a link earns us a small commission, we say so. We never accept payment in exchange for a positive review — and any sponsored content is labeled at the top of the post.

We update what we publish

Products change. Restaurants close. Hotels are bought out. We add an updated date when we revisit a piece, and we’ll mark a recommendation as “no longer recommended” if our experience changes — not just bury the original.
