As a member of a multi-cultural family and a travel writer, I get excited about introducing children to other cultures. When my kids were young, we traveled over-seas often and I was able to introduce them to different languages, food, and more. Still, to this day (well, they are not so old), we congregate with many foreign families and I make a conscious effort to expand their global horizons daily. That is why this event threw itself out at me as something worth promoting. It involves travel, music, language and more.
The French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF), New York’s premiere French cultural center, invites children and their parents to a special Bon Voyage travel-themed arts-and-crafts workshop at the Jacadi Madison Avenue Boutique, Friday, June 1st, from 4–5pm.
Children will learn French travel-related songs and vocabulary, and will create a colorful map using images of iconic monuments from countries including Switzerland, Morocco, Tunisia, and, of course, France. Plus, enjoy 10% savings* on purchases made during the event and find the perfect beach outfit for babies to preteens. Each child will also receive a complimentary tote.
