My husband is a great dancer. I found out as soon as we started dating and he took me to a small tango club in Greenwich Village called La Belle Epoque and came face to face with the real thing. We were attempting to tango with professionals (or so they seemed). Later he bought tickets to a tango production on Broadway where we witnessed the longest-running tango production in Broadway history. It wasn’t something I’d have selected to see myself, but it was very compelling.
That show was Luis Bravo’s internationally acclaimed entertainment phenomenon Forever Tango, whichwill return to the Walter Kerr Theatre, its original Broadway home, for ten weeks only with performances beginning Tuesday, July 9, 2013 through Sunday, September 15, 2013.
“Dancing with the Stars” duo Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy will dance together again for three weeks, performing the sensuous dance of lovers, July 9 through Sunday, July 28, 2013. Smirnoff and Chmerkovskiy join the previously announced special guest star and five-time Grammy Award-winner, Gilberto Santa Rosa, who will also appear through July 28, 2013. It includes sixteen world-class tango dancers, one vocalist and the eleven-piece Forever Tango orchestra.

Yes, I’ve certainly tried to tango! I will admit to many clumsy attempts to follow Youtube instructors in my room! However, my boyfriend and I are looking to take dance lessons together – I bet seeing this show would be a great bit of inspiration!
I also follow your blog on Facebook and Twitter (@daniellevillano)! Thanks!
I’ve watched Tango, but never attempted it myself.

My husband and I took dance lessons before our wedding, so yes we’ve done the Tango. I hope we will take lessons again in the near future.

I have never attempted to tango, but I adore the music.
I love the tango scenes in “The Tango Lesson” and got obsessed with Astor Piazzola’s music. So much so, that “Libertango” is my cell phone ring!

I love tango.
I love tango. I just think it’s one of the most beautiful and intensely passionate dances out there. I remember the first one I saw was on So You Think You Can Dance by Chelsie and Joshua and I was just captivated by the technique and quality of movement that it has stuck with me ever since. I have attempted, and sadly failed, the argentine tango, but alas I lack the dance ability. Hmm…maybe I should sign up for a class? I don’t know, but I absolutely love tango music, Astor Piazzolla is probably my favourite composer in general (my personal favourite piece is Oblivion) and I was so excited to discover that there was actually a Broadway show for tango. Sadly, it hadn’t been on stage since 2004, but today I just learnt that it’s coming back and now I’m more excited than ever! I want to see this show so badly!
Of course…it’s all in the legs….
Following you on Twitter And yes I have attempted Tango before. There are Tango lessons for $10 in a Manhattan studio. It was fun but I was sore the day after!
I haven’t had a chance to try the tango yet, but I’d love to learn!! It’s such a sensuous, powerful dance…
