Giveaway: Win a Pair of Tickets to See SEMINAR on Broadway (3 chances!)

Seminar
A few months ago, I wrote about my experience seeing Seminar on Broadway, written by Theresa Rebeck and directed by Sam Gold (what a combination).  It’s a play about a professor who is teaching a private writing seminar to four aspiring young novelists in a NYC apartment.  A the time, Alan Rickman, one of my favorites, was playing the lead and I spoke about my undying love for the man and essentially how much I enjoyed the play. It made me love and hate Rickman’s character at the same time.  Well, mostly hate.  It’s hard when you love the actor playing a character who’s so despicable so much.
Well, he’s now gone, but the play remains, except with a new lead: Jeff Goldblum, who you may know from Pillow Man, Jurassic Park, Independence Day.  Joining him are Justin Long, Zoe Lister-Jones, Jerry O’Connell and Hettienne Park.  O’Connell and Park are returning to the cast, and both are excellent in their roles.
This show is a must-see, and you have until May 27th to see it.  It’s a great date night, girl’s night out or night out with a friend. To order tickets:  VISIT BroadwayOffers.com (hyperlink: http://bit.ly/H5SP1t) or CALL 212.947.8844 and USE CODE SEFNF316.

  2. I’m a Culture Mom and Seminar. I want to see this show because it looks very interesting and I’ve heard good things about it. I didn’t get to see Alan Rickman in it. I hope to be able to see Jeff Goldblum in the show.

A while back I saw Jeff Goldblum give an interview where he tried- not very successfully at first – to explain the premise of Seminar. I remember thinking – “oh boy, who is ever going to want to see that?” But slowly, as he fumbled through the play description, trying valiantly to make it sound like a great show, I sat up to listen. It was painful but funny, scary but endearing. I was hooked. Enthused. Had to see it. Years ago, during the Independence Day movie craze, I bought my very young son a Jeff Goldblum action figure (yes, they existed). He hated it. It was neither a Ghostbuster or a Ninja Turtle. I inherited it, and for years the 5 inch VERY buff Jeff doll stood on my desk – mocking me at times but always there. I want so badly to see action figure Goldblum LIVE on Broadway – more than you can imagine.

  11. I want to see this show because I saw the original cast and I am dying to see what a new group of actors brings to this incredible script. I love what Rebeck has to say about being an artist in this script, and I want to see new facets illuminated by this new cast.

  12. I want to see this show because I am curious to see how the new cast works. Rickman was so perfect in the role and I don’t see Goldblum being able to make the same choices. Should be very interesting to compare and contrast
