MillionTreesNYC – a joint initiative between the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and New York Restoration Project (NYRP) to plant and care for one million new trees across the City’s five boroughs by 2017 – invites you to come plant trees, garden and adopt a free tree for your home on Saturday, October 2nd 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Tree Giveaway: Volunteers will be given preference. Additional trees may be available on a first come, first serve basis. Limit one tree per household. Please note that trees cannot be planted on rooftops or terraces or in city parks. Simple tree planting and care instructions provided.
