I have been meaning to go to the NYC Chinese New Year parade since my kids were born. This year is definitely the year for it; it’s the Year of the Tiger – but mostly my kids are ages 5 and 6. They’re ready for it. The parade features floats, marching bands, lion and dragon dances, Asian musicians, acrobats and a procession by local organizations.
The parade usually winds throughout Chinatown along Mott, Canal, and Bayard streets, and along East Broadway.
Time: 11:30 a.m. – 4 pm, Sunday, February 21, 2010
Place: Canal Street South
