Oran Etkin, a noted jazz and world music clarinetist, will bring songs from his brand new CD “Wake Up, Clarinet!” to audiences in several cities this fall. Brooklyn, NY based Etkin has developed a “Timbalooloo” method to teach the fundamentals of music through games, stories and and songs, incorporating melodies and rhythms from all over the world. Edie Falco, Naomi Watts, Harvey Keitel and Ken Burns are all fans – their kids have enjoyed Oran’s classes in NYC. Check out my recent review of his new CD here.
Etkin’s music was featured on Putumayo Kids’ CD Jazz Playground, and he’s planning a national family concert tour this fall.
