I apologize if you don’t get my sense of humor. I removed my original introduction as it was a bit exaggerated and there was more than met the eye. At the time of my son’s meltdown, he was jet lagged and I was trying to console him, not hide in the bathroom (to other readers, this is the part that I removed). I read a part in the book a bit later and thought about the incident as it was a bit of a Scary Mommy moment.

I do not ignore my children and they are not badly behaved children because of me. If you don’t know me, you will not know that I live and breathe for my children and they are far from ignored.

This piece was meant to review and celebrate my friend’s new book, not deprecate my parenting skills. I recommend that you pick up a copy of Jill’s book immediately to see how a better writer captures the words I was trying to convey.
