Yesterday was an extraordinary day. I woke up an hour earlier than usual due to Day Light Savings without flinching. Review: Mrs. Warren’s Profession at the Roundabout Theater
Mrs. Warren's Profession is a play ahead of its time. Written by George Bernard Shaw in 1893, it dealt with prostitution and the role of women in Victorian society. It was a bold piece of writing, one that was banned at the time and condemned as immoral, citing its focus on prostitution and incest. Today it is looked as a powerful piece of writing, and I was eager to see its adaptation brought to life by the Roundabout Theater with two of my favorite actresses, Cherry Jones and Sally Hawkins.
