I didn't know what to expect from the latest Cirque Du Soleil Amaluna, but when I found out it was written and directed by Diane Paulus of Pippin fame, I was psyched. In addition to Pippin, she also directed Gershwin's Porgy and Bess and 2009's revival of Hair. It's her first collaboration with Cirque du Soleil. I took my daughter to see the Big Apple Circus when she was 3 years-old. We trekked into NYC mid-week and entered the a large tent at Lincoln Center. I remember it being just like an-fashioned circus with clowns, jugglers, flying trapeze performers, horse back riders, acrobatics, puppies and more.
