Not in recent years, mind you, but without question Merchant Ivory’s British romance/travel film “Room With a View”. I saw it on at The Paris Theater and fell under the spell of the sun washed scenes in Italy contrasted with those constrained in British drawing rooms featuring young Daniel Day-Lewis, Helena Bonham Carter, George Sands and ever delicious Maggie Smith. One of my all time favorites is an older one called Mrs. Brown. Excellent movie. Other more recent UK films I enjoyed are The Queen and The BFG.
